week 2

This week formative assignment.
The mindmap is describing how we would design a game and what kind of issues we would have to deal with.
week 4
This week formative assignment.
Write down three rules from a game, define them, explain them in the context of the game and improve them.
Surviv.io
1.There are 3 game modes: Solo, Duo and Team.
In Solo mode, you play by yourself against other player.
In Duo mode, you play with one more player against other players who has to play as a Duo as well.
In Team mode, you play with 3 more players against other teams with the same number of players as yours. Depends on the team size it would be easier or harder to win a game (of course it is easier to win the game as a team).
To improve this rule, I would create an ELO to place players on different skill levels.
The Sims 4
2.Keep the needs bar on green level.
This is the main rule in the game to keep Sim alive, without living Sims at the active parcel game is over, until we would switch for a different parcel or move in new Sims to the current house.
Some of the needs bar, for example hunger need, drops down very fast. Couple of times my Sim died because I did not feed it on time.
To improve this rule I would increase the time for hunger need.
3.Build a house for Sims to live in.
Without a place to live in, it is impossible to keep Sims alive.
To improve this rule, I would bring the options from the cheating mode to a game as everyone use them anyway.
week 6
This week formative assignment.
A draft of a theoretical analysis of an AAA game.
week 8
This week formative assignment.
Analyse a GDD.
Creating a Game Design Document (GDD) will aid your team in understanding what the essence of the game is. The GDD should serve as your master checklist.
I choose the Race'n'Chase.
Analyzing a GDD usually takes time. Race'n'Chase GDD is well written and covers everything about the game. In this case, I do not think I should try to change it in any way.
The first step to writing a good GDD is to keep the writing clear and concise. This pitch includes a lot of information and it is not too long, what makes it easy and fast to read. Sentences are short and simple but at the same time include a lot of details. The only one thing I would add to this GDD is visual materials. Some difficult concepts can be explained in less time with visual aids like graphs and concept art.
The game elements have been described in details, this is essential for a good GDD. The Document begins with Table of Contents what makes it much easier to read and search for specific information.
This GDD gave me a clear vision of what kind of game is it going to be and how to create it.
week 10
This week formative assignment.
Pick a simple web or free game, analyze it and draw an interaction diagram.
Angry Birds is a series of computer games launched in December 2009 by Rovio Mobile, in which players use the slingshot, from which the birds are fires in the dissection of pigs located on different structures. The condition of passing the board is the destruction of all pigs.
week 12
This week we had to write a project pitch for our own game.
The Pitch:
My game design idea was a car racing game, where you would pick an animal, who would drive a car. The animal you would choose, such as lion, zebra, giraffe, penguin, and mouse, would drive a racing car. This game is kids friendly, so animals and cars would look like toys. The game is not going to be brutal, and it is going to be an offline game, single player only. The rest of the racing cars are going to be controlled by bots.
The environment would be an animated world, the crowd in the stands would be animals.
The main idea of the game would be to complete as many full circles (driving around the same tour) as possible in time of 5 minutes. Collecting coins or fruits would not be necessary, but it might help to achieve a better score.
